Women for Sustainable Growth, Female Leaders in the Middle East and Scandinavia, is an intiative from the Center for Middle Eastern Studies (CMES) at Lund University (LU).
Jeanette Ohlsson from Kulturlänk is very proud to be a part of this wonderful initiative. The meeting of the working group took place the 14th of june in Lund and many interesting and important participants gathered to talk about topics related to women, leadership, business and sustainable issues.
Among the participants were : Åsa Skogström from the Hunger Project Sweden, Jeanette Ohlsson- Kulturlänk, Joachim Bergström, Deputy Head of Mission from the Swedish Embassy in Riyadh, HE Ambassador Najla Al Qassimi- United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Sweden, Yawar Mian- Managing Director Capital Business Sweden, Saamera Murshed Alromaithi-Head of Crown Prince´s Agenda United Arab Emirates, Geetali Chhatwal-Johnsson Head of Direct Markets, Invest in Sweden, Business Culture among others.
The purpose of this event is to bring together 22 female leaders mostly businesswomen from Scandinavia and the Middle East to explore best practices for developing sustainable businesses and organizations, to avoid and address cultural misunderstandings and discuss the importance of the women role in business and in leadership. The group will reflect on experiences as leading businesswomen within both regions and encourage and strategize the increase involvement of women in business and social organizations, academics and governmental institutes.
